Overview
Join the Appen team as an Independent Contractor for Project Uolo-P. This project focuses on detecting lies on social media and involves researching and finding fake information online. We target recent occurrences that could mislead people.
Main Duties
Check the Facts: Compare statements from social media posts with reliable sources to determine their truthfulness.
Keep Up with What's Happening: Stay informed on trending topics to guide your research.
Use Trending Maps: Utilize popular trend maps to help in finding relevant information.
Watch for Repeat Liars: Identify and monitor individuals or sources that frequently share misinformation.
Try Different Ways: Explore various sources and methodologies to uncover false information.
Key Requirements
Must be currently located in Israel.
Fluent and proficient in English and Hebrew.
Must provide a valid social media profile.
Must possess an educational degree.
Additional Information
For a post to be considered, it must:
Come from social media and be recent (within the last 7 or 14 days).
Be about a topic that could seriously mislead people, not just minor errors.
Not be solely an opinion, a joke, or contentious between businesses.
What You Need to Show
Ensure there are no fabricated details, missing information, or fake images.
Confirm the post is from the last week or two and has at least 15 shares or comments (or 100 views if it's a video).
Ensure the information isn't a duplicate submission.
Share the link to the post and provide evidence links, like fact-checking websites.
Summarize the content of the post and your verification process.

Check Google News for current events.
Conduct various searches to identify popular discussions.
Explore social media pages known for sharing false information, particularly on hot topics.
