Outlier helps innovative companies improve their AI models by providing human feedback. This opportunity involves working as a freelance writer to train generative artificial intelligence models.

Responsibilities

• Reading English text to rank a series of responses produced by an AI model.

• Writing and rewriting prompts and responses, including research and fact-checking.

• Assessing the factuality and relevance of text produced by AI models.

Requirements

• Experience as a professional writer or editor.

• Currently enrolled in or completed an associate degree or higher in a writing-related discipline at an accredited institution.

• A strong sense of writing style and exceptional English-language spelling and grammar, along with logic and reasoning skills.

• Attention to detail and the ability to explain clearly the strengths and weaknesses of text.

Compensation

Currently, pay rates for core project work by English writing experts in the US average USD $15 per hour. Rates vary based on expertise, skills assessment, location, project need, and other factors. Higher rates may be offered to PhDs. For non-core work, lower rates may apply. Certain projects offer incentive payments. Please review the payment terms for each project.
