Opportunity

Outlier is seeking talented writers fluent in English to assist in training generative artificial intelligence models. This freelance opportunity is:

Responsibilities

You may contribute your expertise by:

• Reading English text to rank a series of AI-generated responses.

• Writing and rewriting prompts and responses, which may involve research and fact-checking.

• Assessing the factuality and relevance of text produced by AI models.

Examples of Desired Expertise

• Experience as a professional writer or editor.

• Enrollment or completion of an associate degree or higher in a writing-related discipline from an accredited institution.

• A strong sense of writing style with exceptional English-language spelling and grammar.

• Logic and reasoning skills.

• Attention to detail and the ability to explain text strengths and weaknesses clearly.

Compensation

Currently, pay rates for core project work by English writing experts in the US average USD $15 per hour.

• Rates vary based on expertise, skills assessment, location, project need, and other factors; higher rates may be offered to PhDs.

• For non-core work, such as during initial project onboarding or project overtime phases, lower rates may apply.

• Certain projects offer incentive payments; please review the payment terms for each project.
