Outlier is looking for talented writers with fluency in English to help train generative artificial intelligence models.

• This is a reading and writing-intensive freelance opportunity that is remote.

Contributions

You may contribute your expertise by:

• Reading English text to rank a series of responses produced by an AI model.

• Writing and rewriting prompts and responses, which may involve research and fact-checking.

• Assessing the factuality and relevance of text produced by AI models.

Desirable Expertise

• Experience as a professional writer or editor.

• Currently enrolled in or completed a bachelor's degree or higher in a writing-related discipline at a selective institution.

• A strong sense of writing style paired with exceptional English-language spelling and grammar, as well as logic and reasoning skills.

• Attention to detail and the ability to clearly explain the strengths and weaknesses of a given piece of text.

Compensation

• Currently, pay rates for core project work by English writing experts in the US average USD $25 per hour.

• Rates vary based on expertise, skills assessment, location, project need, and other factors. Higher rates may be offered to PhDs.

• For non-core work, such as during initial project onboarding or project overtime phases, lower rates may apply.

• Certain projects offer incentive payments. Please review the payment terms for each project.
